Overview

Individuals (being part of a group is not required) will be able to take the paper and pencil test at designated academic centers across the country.  The first Paper & Pencil testing date will be Saturday, November 2, 2013. Registration will open on August 5, 2013 and close on September 18, 2013. Additional details will be forth coming closer to the registration date.
 


Computer testing is available all year around.   Testing occurs in 90 day cycles starting on th 5th and 20th of each month. See below for more information.Only online registration on this website are accepted. Applications submitted by mail, fax or email will not be accepted and will be returned to the individual.

Women's Health Care Nurse Practitioner Credential (WHNP-BC) 

Eligibility Requirements

  • Current licensure as an RN in the U.S. or Canada
  • Successful completion of a formal nurse practitioner program that prepares women's health care nurse practitioners and awards a graduate degree (Master's,  post-Master's or DNP) in the specialty

  • You must be a graduate of a program in 2005 or later to be eligible.

Individual Paper & Pencil Testing                                   

Paper and pencil testing will be given at AMP test centers and designated academic centers across the country.

Computer Testing

  • In order to register online you will have upload your transcript and diploma to the  NCC website, these documents must be scanned to a file on your computer or on a CD-ROM. If you have your own personal scanner or can use your employer's scanner, scan the documents into a PDF format to save to your computer. You will have to have PDF software to do this. See www.adobe.com for more information. Many companies do this type of service for a nominal fee. Local printers, chain printers like Kinkos, Federal Express, UPS shipping and packing or your local internet café can show you how to scan your documents to a CD-ROM for upload to the NCC website
  • There are no application deadlines and a candidate may submit an application and fee at any time.
  • It will take approximately 4 weeks to process an application.
  • After being determined eligible, you will have a 90-day window to schedule and take your exam.  Testing windows start at 5th and 20th of the month.
  • Eligiblity letters are sent out twice on 15th and last day of each month.
  • You will schedule your own exam appointment with AMP either by phone or via the internet.
  • Exams will be delivered via computer at over 100 AMP Assessment Centers geographically located throughout the United States.
  • Exams will be administered by appointment only Monday through Saturday at 9:00 am and 1:30 pm.
  • Candidates are scheduled in a first-come, first-served basis.
  • AMP Assessment Centers are typically located in H & R Block offices.  Click here to review the current list.
  • Prior to attempting the examination, you will be given the opportunity to practice taking a test on computer.
  • A candidate who fails to report for an examination forfeits all fees paid to take the examination.  Click here for detailed information on deferrals, extensions and fees.
  • After completing the examination, the candidate will receive a preliminary score report. 
  • Official results will be mailed from NCC within 21 days of exam administration (date of certification is based on the date on the official results NOT the exam date). 
  • You are not certified until you receive  your results in the mail.
