Can CE credit be earned by taking an NCC Exam? You can't earn CE for taking a NCC exam. Certification is not a continuing education activity.
Can academic credit be used to maintain certification? Academic credit can be used for certification maintenance but course work must represent certification specialty content.
How do I know what NCC Self Assessment modules I can use to maintain my certification?Any NCC self assessment can be used to meet specialty content hour requirements for any core certification leading to an RNC or NP credential.
- For certificate of added qualification, only CE in subspecialty area can be used.
- On the description of each module, applicability to specified NCC certification and certificates of added qualification is noted.
What is a universal hour/topic for maintenance? Universal content (hours) that can be used for maintenance of any core certification (leading to an RNC or NP credential) include resuscitation and stabilization, pharmacology, AIDS/HIV, nursing research, and professional issues limited to ethics, legal or patient safety. This does NOT apply to certificates of added qualification.
