NCC offers three different methods of Self Assessment

  • Hard copy modules that are sent to you in the mail.
  • Hard copy modules with online test at NCC website
  •  Online modules  Both the reading materials and test are accessed from the NCC website under your account.

Once your method of Self Assessment has been purchased , it cannot be changed. You cannot choose to do online test submission if you have purchased paper test submission and you cannot request to submit a paper test if you have purchased online test submission.  The hard copy modules are the same but offered in both a mail and online version for test submission.

There are no refunds or exchanges for NCC self assessment modules (either online or hard copy modules).

Online

  • Order online at the NCC website
  • Receive email confirmation of your order
  • Access and print reading materials and take the test via the online test center or your account
  • Read the materials (can print them out to read)—once the module is completed the reading material is no longer available
  • Take the test online (you can go in and out the test as long as you don't submit your answers)
  • Achieve a passing score of 70% and your CE credit and certificate is immediately available in your NCC website account.
  • If not successful, can retake the test one more time at no charge

Reading materials are provided in one of two formats as a PDF file or you are given a link to the publisher website to download the materials.    When accessing materials from a publisher website, it is important that the cookie setting on your computer is enabled and you don't have special filters that may interfere with accessing materials.  If accessing from an employer computer, you may be denied access due to your employer's firewall set up.  You would need to contact your IT department to disable such firewalls.   In many cases, using a different computer for access resolves the conflicting issue.   The form of the reading materials are dictated by the publisher and they determine how we can provide access to these copyrighted materials.

Hard Copy reading materials with paper test submission

  • Order online at the NCC website
  • Receive email confirmation of your order
  • Receive module and reading materials in the mail
  • Read materials provided
  • Take the test and send in your answer sheet to NCC
  • Achieve a passing score of 70% and receive your certificate and results by mail
  • Modules scored weekly
  • If not successful, can retake the test one more time at no charge

Hard Copy reading materials with online test submission 

  • Order online at the NCC website
  • Receive email confirmation of your order
  • Receive reading materials in the mail
  • Read materials provided
  • Take the test online (you can go in and out the test as long as you don't submit your answers)
  • Achieve a passing score of 70% and your CE credit and certificate is immediately available in your NCC website account.
  • If not successful, can retake the test one more time at no charge

Scoring – how and when you will get your results

Online submission results

Self Assessment modules with online test submission will have the results available immediately in your NCC website account. Passing results will generate a certificate of completion, also found in your account.

Hard copy submission results

Self Assessment modules with hard copy test submission by mail will be scored on a weekly basis. Answer sheets received by Tuesday of each week will have score reports mailed the following Wednesday. Weeks in which national holidays occur, no scoring will take place.

Modules based on journal articles with paper test submission (hard copy modules)

  • For NCC certificants: $83.00
  • For non-NCC certificants: $103.00

Modules based on journal articles with online test submission (hard copy article with online test modules)

  • For NCC certificants: $59.00
  • For non-NCC certificants: $79.00

Modules based on book chapters or articles (online modules)

  • $12.00 for 5 contact hour modules
  • $24.00 for 10 contact hour modules
  • $36.00 for 15 contact hour modules

Note: There are no discounts for online modules.

There are no refunds or exchanges for NCC self assessment modules (either online or hard copy modules).

Unopened Hard Copy Modules will be considered for return with a $15 restocking fee. Use the Contact Us page on the website to request instructions.

All prices include shipping. They are sent federal express, UPS or via USPS based on the most efficient shipping mode based on location. Foreign orders may be subject to additional shipping fees. It can take 5-7 days for shipping and a two day order processing time

Overview of the hospital discount program

The hospital discount program is a great way to provide the NCC online self assessment modules to your staff for:

  • Continuing competency initiatives
  • Learning the new and latest practice updates
  • Maintaining their NCC certification
  • Providing orientation or refresher courses for new or returning employees

You can purchase multi-packs in the amount of 10, 25, 50 or 100 modules. Discounts are afforded but the more you purchase, the greater the discount.

What modules are available

Any NCC web-based (online) can be purchased through the hospital discount program.

How the program works

  • Place your order (above right - "For Hospitals")
  • Get an email confirmation of your order with your hospital discount code
  • Distribute the hospital discount code to all you wish to participate
  • Participants will access the module through the "For Participants" link - above right
  • Participants enter the access code
  • Participants complete contact information to track CE information
  • Participants will select modules per those designated in the order
  • Participants will go to the online testing center to access the module they ordered
  • Participants will receive feedback and a CE certificate if successful
  • Email notification will be sent to purchaser of all those who have taken a module

Accreditation information:

All NCC Self Assessment Modules are: Provider approved by the California Board of Nursing Provider #15157.

Pharmacology hours

NCC does not designate pharmacology hours within any of the self assessment modules

Module expiration dates

In order to keep our continuing education modules current—All modules have expiration dates. Once expired, modules are no longer available online and answer sheet cannot be submitted for scoring. Please note the expiration date before committing to purchase.  Once expired, they will no longer be accessible from your account.  There are no refunds or exchanges for expired modules.

Online submission deadlines

Online test submission for modules with a 12/31/2012 expiration date must be submitted for score before Midnight CST on 12/31/2012 or they will not be scored.

Hard copy submission deadlines

Answer sheets received after 12/15/2012 will not be scored and no refund will be given.
