NCC to present at AANP's 2015 National Conference

May 1, 2015

NCC has been invited to present a poster at The American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) 2015 National Conference. "Practice Issue: Let's Assess Personalized Certification Maintenance" will be presented on Wednesday, June 10th from 10am to 12pm by Suzy Reiter, WHNP-BC, FAANP and NCC Past President.

This poster session will discuss the early results from approximately 27,000 assessment completed by NCC-certified nurse practitioners. Confirming the positive aspects of this proactive approach to validate continuing knowledge competencies.

The use of a third party assessment to validate specialty knowledge competency and use of an individualized learning plan for certification maintenance clearly demonstrates that NCC-certified nurse practitioners are engaged in life-long professional development as advocated by multiple agencies and organizations. Through ongoing monitoring and improvements, NCC continues to develop practitioner-friendly interfaces for all aspects of the new certification maintenance program, so that the nurse practitioner can focus on opportunities for professional development rather than maintenance process elements.

If you are a NCC-certified nurse practitioner and plan to attend the AANP National Conference, please check your education plan! Only CE that is earned after you have completed your continuing competency assessment and in the areas defined by your education plan can be used for NCC maintenance.
