Past NCC President Miriam Manisoff Dies

Miriam Manisoff, RN, MA, President of NCC from 1987-1990, died on February 17, 2011 at age 91.

Ms. Manisoff was one of the pioneers of NCC serving as Chair of the initial Women's Health Care Nurse Practitioner Test Committee, then  serving as a Board Director which culminated  in her election as President in 1987.  She also served on countless committees and task forces during her tenure.

A native New Yorker, Ms. Manisoff  worked for many years as Director of Professional Education at Planned Parenthood of America and instrumental in the development of nurse practitioner certificate programs across the country. An advocate for the women's health care nurse practitioner, her many contributions will be longed remembered.

Ms. Manisoff is survived her two daughters, her grandson and a brother and sister.
