Use of S.T.A.B.L.E, S.T.A.B.L.E Instructor Course and S.T.A.B.L.E-Cardiac

Only certifications that have core competencies related to resuscitation and stabilization or newborn or neonatal pathophysiology may use S.T.A.B.L.E, S.T.A.B.L.E Instructor Course, and S.T.A.B.L.E-Cardiac for maintenance or reinstatement of certifications.  The programs listed below may apply to certain certifications as indicated in the tables. These programs are limited to a one-time use during a maintenance/reinstatement cycle and can only provide a total of 5 CE as listed below. The new limit of the 5 CEs applies to all certificants maintaining after December 31, 2026.  The CE certificate must be uploaded with the maintenance/reinstatement application (Certificates of completion are not accepted). These include the use of the following, if deemed a core competency for the certification maintenance:

RATIONALE:
Limiting to 5 CEs: S.T.A.B.L.E. or S.T.A.B.L.E. Instructor certification alone does not satisfy the requirements for a full specialty code. To maintain a balanced professional profile, CE hours must be distributed across all core competency areas within a certification and not just resuscitation and stabilization. To maintain certification, professionals must ensure their documented education covers the complete scope of the specialty core content. In addition, since the curriculum courses vary between institutions and at times surgical repair may not be required, the CE is limited to 5 CE.
