Chicago, IL – May 2018 – The National Certification Corporation (NCC) congratulates George Engelhard, Ph.D., Professor of Educational Measurement and Policy, Quantitative Methodology Program, Educational Psychology at The University of Georgia and Co-Editor of the Journal of Educational Measurement.
Dr. Engelhard was awarded the Benjamin Drake Wright Senior Scholar Award by the Rasch Measurement Special Interest Group (SIG) of the American Educational Research Association. Dr. Engelhard serves as NCC’s psychometric consultant.
This prestigious award recognizes leaders that have made meaningful contributions to the field of social measurement, and in particular to Rasch measurement theory. The event took place at the 2018 American Educational Research Association and National Council of Measurement in Education (NCME) annual meetings, New York City in April.
Rasch measurement is a field of study named after the Danish Mathematician and Statistician Georg Rasch. It is related to the broader field of item response theory. This psychometric method is commonly used in linear or computer adaptive testing by many certification organizations including NCC.
