The maintenance requirements for NCC Certified Nurses and Nurse Practitioners* are determined by a specialty assessment. The specialty assessment creates a personalized education plan that directs the continuing education activities needed in order to maintain a NCC certification.
The education plan gives a snap shot of current knowledge competencies and allows individuals to choose CE that is both appropriate for NCC maintenance and professional development. It is essential to have this education plan in place early in the certification cycle!
The NCC Maintenance Program uses a specialty assessment and education plan.
1) take the specialty assessment
2) review the education plan
3) earn required CE (Only CE earned after the assessment has been taken can be used to maintain NCC certification. It must meet the CE required by the educational plan.)
Login to NCCwebsite.org, select "your account" and "View Your Education Plan(s)" to review personalized CE requirements.
